The removal of God’s presence is the surest and saddest token of God’s displeasure. Woe to us, if he departs! He never departs, till by sin and folly we drive him from us. (Nu 12:10-16) MATTHEW HENRY’S CONCISE COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLE
Anna and I love Lamb’s Ear Lettuce – a special lettuce with a light walnut flavor was only available in Germany throughout winter. We found it at our local grocery store packaged under the French name ‘Mâche.’ Another German treat ‘Schäufele’ (smoke cured shoulder of pork) was something Anna and I have been missing. Yesterday at Cosco I saw a package of ‘pulled pork.’ It tastes just like ‘Schäufele!’ We’re excited…
We’re still waiting for our house in Kandern, Germany to close. Hopefully we’ll have a closing before the end of the month. Life here in the Denver metro area is good. Colorado weather always changes, so it keeps life interesting…
Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.
Romans 12:21 (NLT)
2 Cor. 7:16 I am very happy now because I have complete confidence in you.
Could the apostle Paul say this of me?
I Cor. 9:22-23
When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
These are assuring words with all Anna and I have in the coming months.
Michael’s moving into his new digs today. In a God kind of way, a room in an A-frame house in the mountains above Boulder, CO came available this week. God’s timing is perfect!
